I’m a little late with my post, so I’m changing it up a little and following rUnladylike’s lead.. She’s doing an accountability link up. Since I’ve been following a similar format for the last few weeks, I thought I’d give this a go.
Week in review:
Monday – 30 sec plank + Rest
Tuesday – 3 miles (easy) + barbell – This was one of the best runs ever! Weather was perfect, pace was perfect, conversation was great!
Wednesday – 10 burpees + Pace workout 0.5mi warmup; (4:00 @ 9:53/mi & 3:00 recovery jog) x4; 0.5mi cool down
Boys were home sick and Daisy was fighting a cold. No hulk rage, but also no exercise for me.
Thursday – 20 squats + 3 miles (easy) I went to master’s swim!! I got out of my head & jumped right in. It wasn’t intimidating at all. I had worked it up so much in my head. I’m a better swimmer than I thought was, but I still have a lot to work on. I used the pull buoy and worked my arms. It’s so awkward, but amazingly effective.
Friday – Swim! Treadmill run and stretch
Saturday – Hike! Amazing hike in the San Tan mountains. I caught up with a friend as we traversed the Little Leaf- Goldmine-Dynamite-SanTan trails. It was a challenging but not too challenging hike. The hours passed quickly as we chatted and enjoyed the scenery.
Sunday – Piles of Miles — aiming for 8-9 miles (@ 10:55/mi). Fastest. Long run. Ever.
I’m most excited that I conquered my mental hang ups and enjoyed Master’s Swim and I rocked the weekend with a long hike and long run. I wasn’t that tired on Saturday but pushed the pace hard on Sunday, so I was beat!
This week, I’m working on sticking to meal plans and properly fueling my family! Only 4 weeks left until Lost Dutchman! Since I’ve been running well, my speed goals have increased for this week. We’ll see if I can prepare to maintain the pace.
Congrats on a solid week of workouts. Great job on that Tuesday run and going to masters swim. I’ve admittedly always been intimidated of that myself and have opted to swim alone when I could probably use the help and support there. Oh, the challenges of being a runner who “swims.” 🙂 Thanks for joining the link up and keep rocking it! xoxo
Thank you for making the link up possible, Jesica! I think that all Masters classes should be renamed as “adult swim club” and they will be better received.
You had a great week of workouts! I’ve never swam laps before but I think it is a great form of cross training that I should eventually try out. Your hike sounds wonderful!
I found you from Jesica’s link-up over at Runladylike!
It’s going to be hard to keep up last weeks’ pace! I highly recommend adding swimming if you can. I feel like I’ve improved my running times since I started swimming regularly. And it’s an awesome no impact recovery exercise after a long run!
