2017 in Review

In taking a look at 2017, I recovered from injury while participating in the usual races and I also had my focused calendar and epic race!

I kept up with my training, but realized that I was injured!

Started Physical Therapy, had to DNS Lost Dutchman, and walk the Phoenix Half!

  • Lost Dutchman
  • Phoenix-Mesa Half Marathon

I won a team entry to Mountain to Fountain and got to spend the morning with these lovely ladies!  I walked the 5k of the beautiful course.  Finished Physical Therapy!

  • Mountain to Fountain 5k

Started my training for Ironman 70.3 AZ.  I was humbled at the Splash and Dash and happy to have a baseline for my training.

  • Run 3rd
    • Splash and Dash

Celebrated the BIG Birthday!  Sporty 40!

Travel took up most of June, so while we got to see some pretty awesome sights my fitness was a little stagnant.  Glad that #MRTT can pull me out of the post vacay slump.

Mom Camp 2017 was the best!  Until I got stuck in Nashville.  Travelling is fun until you’re ready to be home with your babies.  We added more camping adventures to our list of experiences.

I completed “The toughest race you’ll ever love!”

What a day! What a race! @trimountainman definitely puts on a gorgeous race which fits the bill as "the toughest race you'll ever love!" My support crew was amazing all day and I'm proud to say that I finished my #firstolympictri ! I learned a lot during the race, expecially the bike. Can you believe that I was rear ended on the bike!?! A dude drifted over and tapped his rear tire on my rear! Thankfully we weren't going too fast and my extra cushion allowed me to bounce right of and complete the rest of the ride😂. I did manage to fall over right at the bike dismount. Next time, I'll remember to flip out on both sides. 🚴‍♀️ It was a challenging race & racing at elevation is no joke!

A month for loss: an uncle and a mentor.  A time for family and friends.

I’m back on track and feeling better about closing the year on a high note.

  • Hot Chocolate 15k
  • Heroes in Recovery 6k

And I met the Crested Saguaro!

Thanks for being on this journey with me!!  Let’s see what we can do in 2018!
